Our snack bar
I decided to go for a walk today. I tried to talk Lisa into coming but she didn't fancy it (or more likely, wanted a some peace and quiet away from me!). So after breakfast it was a relaxing time by the pool and then following lunch I set off for a walk and left Lisa to unwind after spending far too much time with me. She's just not used to it with me working away from home as much as I do.

I now know what life is like for a Lizard. I scuttled up the road seeking out as much shade as I could, crossing the road from tree to tree. The locals were all sitting in the shade laughing at the white guy out in the sun at this time of day, nutter eh?

I walked about a mile away until I found a supermarket and hoping it would be air conditioned I went in. It was and I had the chance to cool off. I grabbed a basket and filled it with Tusker beer, bottled water and some Chilli Sauce that we had grown to like at the hotel. The shop stocked items you just wouldn't see in a UK supermarket. There was an Ox drawn plough for instance, so I thought I would look around the isles to see what else might be different about this shop and a similar one in the UK. As I turned into one isle, I knew that it was a mistake to leave my camera in the hotel. In traditional dress was a Masai Warrior, no shoes, shopping basket in one hand and spear in the other. Not something you would expect to see in Asda, and the guy looked so out of place on the modern tiled floor of the supermarket.

Arriving back at the hotel I met up with Lisa and spent a few minutes in the air-conditioned room trying to recover from the heat. Then off to the restaurant for something to eat where we met up with Gwin and Mark. Following another stunning meal we set off to the bar where we crossed paths with Paul our rep, and he kindly posed for pictures with us. Then after a few Tuskers (or in my case cokes, boo to the not drinking with antibiotics rule) it was off to bed, we had an exceptionally early start the next day.
