Final Thoughts

How would I summarise our trip to Keyna. With great difficulty. There is just too much to say, and all of it good.

The People
The Kenyan people are the most friendly nation in the world. Admitidly the poeple that I met mainly worked in the tousrism industry and it was in their interests to be friendly. However I beleive they would have been just as friendly if we had just bumped into each other in the street. And something I found cute was that the children in the villages all run out of their huts to wave at us as we passed by in our bus and a wave back usually put a great big smile on their faces. The Islamic population did not present any anti western sentiment. In fact they went to great lengths to make us all very welcome. I'm not sure whether this was to help compensate for the damage that Osama Bin Laden has done to the reputation of their Faith and to their income. I rather suspect we would have been made just as welcome had recent world events not happened.

Our Accommodation
The Hotels and Lodges were superb and the staff all treated us as though we were royalty.

The Scenery
The Kenyan Landscape was stunning and all I expected Africa to be, from the plains to the tropical jungles, it was like living inside those wildlife documentaries I like to watch.

The Safari
The Safari was great, I was amazed at how close to the wildlife were able to get. And Kenya is rich in it's wildlife.

Ain't Diving brilliant??
Yup it is, I loved every minute and the sea life was as fantasic as the wildlife on Safari.

Will we go back to Kenya?
You bet your life we will. There are other places in the world I would like to see, but I will make a return trip to Kenya in the not too distant future.

Anything Else?
If you get the chance look up a Singer by the name of Brenda Fassie. She is South African and sings mainly in Swahili. Lookout for a track called "Vuli Ndela"
